child I wanted to devote my life to music. My early years
were spent in various musical schools learning to play the
guitar and piano.
Turned out, fate had other things in store for me.
I qualified as a fashion designer and for ten years lived in
the hectic world of fashion. These were exciting times -
constantly on the road, fashion shows, glamour and vanity. I
was happy, but immeasurably tired. At twenty-nine, I started
dreaming of peace and quiet, and an escape from the pomp. I
decided to quit. I left fashion and found silence. However,
it didn’t take me long to realise that tranquillity is not
easy to swallow either. I remembered my childhood musical
dreams and with great disappointment realised I’d forgotten
how to play… Soon after it occurred to me to try and paint
music with colours. The first attempts were almost tragical;
fortunately, I didn’t give up. I did a lot of painting,
self-taught and gradually fell in love with art.
On my 30th birthday, I opened my first exhibition on the
Greek island of Siros; this exhibition changed my whole
life. Many more invitations for exhibitions followed, I
stopped counting after the twentieth. Art had turned from a
hobby into a philosophy of life, and my atelier had become
my cosy castle.
Today, 13 years later, after 30 exhibitions, I no longer
doubt that music has a colour dimension as well and I feel I
have found my way. Beauty and music are all around us. You
just have to open your eyes, bring the beauty in your heart
and learn to share it with the others.
If more people start looking for the beauty in the world
around, it will be a better place to live.
Rain puddle is just a wet unpleasant obstacle until the
moment you start staring at the sky it reflects…Then you
will see it is a magic mirror.
